On 3 July 2005, a team of eight "Habitat for Humanity Singapore" volunteers departed Singapore for Banda Aceh. Their aim: to spend the next one week helping the survivors of tsunami-ravaged Tibang Village rebuild their homes and their hopes for the future... This travelogue records the wonderful sequence of events and experiences that unfolded during their First Build there...
We headed to the rented house in the city area of Banda Aceh, where Thay, Aan and the other staff of the Indonesian Habitat affiliate were staying. There, we had our lunch, after which we were on the road again to see the damage done by the tsunami in other parts of Banda Aceh.
